Toshiba 32ZP-18P - No Picture...

Hi,

Bit of a dilemma. I purchased my TV - Tosh 32ZP18p in March 2002, so it is well out of warranty. I used to live in the UK, but now live in Canada where the voltage is 110v @ 60Hz. I run the TV through a transformer which ups the voltage but doesn't change the Hz. It has been working fine for 2 years, but this week gave up. Now all I get is sound, no picture. I can access the Menus and see them no problem. I'm wondering what the issue could be and the kind of cost I'm looking at for a repair, if I can get the parts, Uk prices would suffice here please. I can get a new Sony LCD for $500+tax (£275). The problem is, this TV cost me an arm and leg when I bought it so I have an attachment to it, besides that it is a great TV and the picture and sound are great, well the picture sucks now...

Thanks for your help.

Patrick.

Re: Toshiba 32ZP-18P - No Picture...

It turns out that something had burned out on the board that houses all the inputs on the back of the TV, meaning EXT1,2 & 3 were not powered, so passing no signal. However EXT4, the component input is powered from somewhere else and therefore still works. Which means although I cannot use the SCART inputs (attempting to fix the problem may cause other problems), I can continue to use the TV on EXT4 via component. Cost me $20 to get this diagnosis.

HTH.
