Question PAL B/G External Tuner Box - any good?

We would like our trusty Panasonic TX-28 PL10 (UK spec Euro 4H chassis) to be able to receive Portuguese TV which is (as I understand) PAL B/G. The TV is set up for PAL I only and cannot be easily changed (as I understand).

I came across this "External CRT VGA PC TV Tuner Box NTSC PAL I B/G AV-In" on e-Bay for around £20 all the way from Hong Kong.

Any experience / views? Will it work or is it just too good to be true? The Panny doesn't have VGA input but can take separate S-Video and audio in which this unit seems to offer.

Frankly, the TV is worth next-to-nothing now so that's what I want to spend.

Thanks for any input.

Assuming you're located in Portugal, If you can receive a digital TV service there, hook up the digital TV set top box to the TV's SCART (or S-Video) socket. This will bypass the TV's own tuner.

Alternatively, if you only have access to analogue TV broadcasts through an aerial, you can use any locally purchased VCR or DVD recorder, and hook it up to the TV the same way (via SCART or S-Video). You can then use it as the tuner.

I understand the digital option since it's just like Sky. However, it's the analogue I'm after. I know I can use a local VCR / DVD unit's tuner, but I'm looking for something simpler, smaller and cheaper. The box I mentioned seems to fit the bill.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this particular external tuner.

Thanks
