Problem with Sony HDF-E50 and Xbox 360 PAL-60

Hey,

A friend of mine has just purchased an Xbox 360 and is experiencing problems on a Sony KDF-50.

Basically, what happens is when plugged in via HDMI the TV has a strange flickering/blurring (Almost makes me feel drunk). When you change the resolution it temporarily tests the image in 50hz and it displays fine before setting itself back to 60hz and having the strange picture again. As far as I can see there is no way to manually set the Xbox with a HDMI cable to 50hz (And I'd prefer to have it set at 60hz) so I don't know what can be done to fix the problem..

Can anyone shed any light on this??

Sorry, I said it was HDF-E50, but it's a KDF-E50.

If it helps, the exact model is KDF-E50A12U.

Also, a bit more information... It doesn't just do this on HDMI. I tried using a normal composite cable to manually set it to 50hz (Which doesn't save when moving back to HDMI) and when set in PAL-60 over the composite cable it does the same thing.

Surely this TV handles 60hz?
