Sony Trinitron KV-28LS36U is not finding any programms and no sound

Hello guys. I'm new in here, so here we goes:

I just bought a sony trinitron crt tv model KV-28LS36U from United Kingdom. Now i'm in Romania I plugged the CATV in and the tv is serching and does find JUST A FEW PROGRAMMS (17) from 50 programms broadcasting by my cable tv provider. Also these 17 programms has NO SOUND!
Just to mention, on my other tv all programms are OK with sound and everything.
(On the back of this tv it is a "made in UK", so is this a problem in Romania?)

Any of you guys know what's the problem?

Your issue is the reverse of this:

So basically you need to see if the TV can be set to PAL B/G for sound and for VHF/ UHF, if a VHF tuner if fitted.

Some TV's are unable to scan the cable frequencies. You could use an old VCR (purchased in Romania) to use as the tuner instead (provided it can also handle the required frequencies).
