Re: sagem axium temp warning light probs

Most likely problem is a build up of dirt/dust inside that's blocking a fan. Try opening it up and having a good clean.

Not got link to service manual to hand but a search here should find it. If not shout & i'll post a link when I get home.

Did you find a solution or diagnosis? I have the same problem. The set goes from standby to flashing standby and temperature light followed by solid red temp light and flashing standby to solid red Temp and Standby. No fans are running. I have tested the lamp fan and the thermal fuse in the lamp house and both seem fine. I have also hoovered out the fan on the optical head. Could it be the temperature sensor on the head? Thanks

Mine did that just after the bulb had blown (after 7500 hours but before 8000 hours). Are you sure your bulb was OK - was it nearing the end of its life?

New bulb sorted it.

Hi. I have another Sagem and put the bulb in that and it works fine. I took out the temperature sensor from the head and it reads 15kohms when cold and goes down to 1k when warm (hair drier). Does this sound normal? Also tested both fans on a power supply and both work fine. Any suggestions. Thanks

Had the same prob on mine, stripped the back of the unit out and cleaned the fan on top of the bulb, but also the small fan slap bang in the middle of the telly on the heat sink & the heat sink itself, fired it up, same prob.

Replaced the fuse over the bulb & working again............ & so much quieter, will it last??? hopefully

I removed the small black fan behind the circuit boards & cleaned out the heat sink, there was so much dust in there, have you cleaned yours out at all?

It sounds the same problem I have, certainly same lights sequence.
I have had the main circuit board pulled away from the set but then powered it up, look but do not touch if you do this!!

The fan on the DLP mirror assembly has an intermittent fault in that it sometimes fails to start. If it will not start within a few seconds of the powering the set on it will give a temp light and the startup will stop.
Check the bulb is lighting up by looking through the grill on the left side where the bulb holder is, if the temp light comes the main bulb will power off.
You can not hear the DLP fan, it is noiseless. The fan you are hearing is the main bulb fan.
My next step is trying to get a new fan from Maplins

Thanks. Both fans are clean and working (if you remove the speaker assembly it possible to see the DLP fan) although the lamp fan sounds a little noisier than my other Sagem. The lamp never strikes. I have also tried another ballast board as I had a spare from when my other set had a fault and still no lamp striking. I still think it might be a faulty sensor or possibly the lamp fan not running at correct speed.

It might the temp sensor inside the lamp housing covered in dust.
Take the lamp assembly and holder out. Looking into the now empty space, in the top right corner is a temperature thermocouple. It is an oblong shaped buff coloured device. This gave me a problem once as it was totally covered in dust
