Toshiba 24Z33 NTSC compatibility problems

Hi

I just recently bought a brand new Toshiba 24Z33B from comet. The problem I am having is that whenever I play ntsc films via my DVD player or games via my Playstation 2 white lines that look like stretch marks appear on the right and left hand sides of the screen.

They are really noticable in dark movies and are a real annoyance. Even when i play my ntsc japanese dremacast on the tv via an rgb scart cable the same problem occurs.

This problem even occurs when i play my films and games using an rgb scart lead via the rgb scart port 1 on the tv.

This problem does not occur at all with PAL material.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Chris

banding on NTSC common prob with Pioneers

Hi
just thought you might want to look at:
http://thedvdforums.com/forums/showt...hreadid=236398
where this type of problem is discussed.
With my Sony CRT TV I resored to S-video to remove the bands on NTSC - also need to set DVD player to NTSC...
best of luck

This problem (along with several others) is also being discussed more locally.
