No video connecting my Sharp Aquos to V+Box with HDMI

Hi there,
I cannot manage to have the V+Box working with my Sharp Aquos trough HDMI.

I think it's an "handshacking" failure, but I have no idea what to do:
1) the TV is the Sharp LC 46D62U
2) the V+Box is Samsung
3) when they are connected via HDMI, I have AUDIO but not VIDEO. The TV says "An incompatible video signal has been received. Check the output device setting"
4) the V+Box works via HDMI with my other Sony tv, no problem
5) the Aquos works via HDMI with PS3 and my previous cable provider no problem
6) i can have the video from the V+Box to the Aquos with a Scart>Composite cable (but the quality is what it is)
7) i have been following several procedures to adjust the V+Box audio setting (720, 1080, with/without the other input connected, resetting the V+Box ...) but without any luck

Virgin could not help, and Sharp suggest me to buy a Scart>Component cable that I cannot find (and I wonder: will I have the same quality I could have with HDMI?).

Anybody can help? Thank you
