| HDMI with Mitubishi Monolink
I have a 2004 Mitsubishi model WS-65313 65" rear screen projection TV that does NOT have an HDMI input port. It says it will display 1080i. It does have a DVI monolink port and I do have an adapter cable that I bought on Amazon that directly converts the HDMI to the monolink plug.
When I plug this into my Scientific Atlanta cable box, it DOES work fine.
But here's the problem...
I have two TV's I'd like to drive using the one HDMI output on the cable box. One is a 32" Visio LCD with an HDMI port. The other is The Mitsibishi projection set. The Vision is connected using a 25' HDMI cable (it's located in my bar).
The monolink adapter cable is a 6 footer as is the HDMI cable between the cable box and the splitter.
I bought the HDMI splitter from Amazon (the good one, HDMI 1.3 compliant) but now when I try using both set with the splitter, I can only lock in on the lower resolution channels (720), but when I switch to the higher resolution the Mitsubishi just displays a bunch of colored lines, then goes into video mute mode. It's as if it can't lock in on the signal, then quits.
This worked last year before the digital switchover, but now it seems the cable company upped the resolution to 1080p...but that makes no sense since the cable box, hdmi to dvi and tv will work by themselves, but not with the splitter...
Any ideas?
I know the easy answer...upgrade to a projection system to replace the Mitsubishi.
