Sony KDF 50E 2010

Can anyone help with this problem. I have a Sony Bravia KDF 50E 2010. The top of the screen has got a pinkish band going into yellow. It's about 3" thick. I can see the picture through it but everything behind it is pinkish. Its a bit like one of those sun screens people used to put across the top of theyre car windscreens. Just replaced the lamp and its now more vivid because the tv is brighter but it was there before I changed it only fainter. Any ideas?

Re: Sony KDF 50E 2010

Same thing here.
In addition to the pinkish band on top I have a much more less visible greenish band on bottom of screen. I opened the lamp and cleaned it up a bit (a lot of dust). Maybe one of the small glasses inside got loose? I tried to get a service manual but I couldn't find it (free) on the net. Any ideas?
thanks
Luca

For me, living in Italy, a lot of money is gonna get out of my pockets if they won't change the guarantee policy

Re: Sony KDF 50E 2010

I have the same problem a red tint band 3" to 4" along the top of the screen. Been looking on the internet it seems to be either the lens's inside need a good clean, which entails stripping it right down or the optical block a major expensive component has gone. Has anybody stripped one and cleaned it.

1) Was it a hard job
2) Did it work
3) Would I be wasting my time and accept the optical block has gone.

Please can someone Help?
