Sony KP-51DS1U Screen Settings Help

I have had a sony KP-51DS1U for at least 8 years.... can anyone share some settings to improve the picture quality.... at the moment the picture is very dull and darkish (compared to LCD)... any help would be appreciated to keep its lifespan going!
