Wireless Sky Connectivity

I need help!!!!

Here goes....

I currently have Sky Multiroom with a Sky Plus box downstairs and a Sky HD box upstairs. I want to run 2, possibly 3 tv's from the Sky Plus box downstairs and 3 possibly 4 tv's form the Sky HD box upstairs.

Is it possible to do this wireless?? Can you actually get anything to run so many tv's from the same box??

I'd heard you could get something to run up to 4 tv's from one box but cannot find anything to do this anywhere?!?!?!

Help very much appreciated.

Re: Wireless Sky Connectivity

Not wirelessly no. But you can distribute the output of either of the boxes to as many displays as you like. You will need to run cabling between the box (where generally you would also locate the distribution kit) and each of the TVs. You will also need to consider how you will change channel, obviously being aware that all TVs connected to the same box will have to watch the same channel.

Your first question should really be what level of quality do you want to achieve? You could patch Sky onto an aerial system and achieve basic UHF quality for not a lot of money whatsoever. Or you could distribute component video or even HDMI, gain much better signalling and HD signalling from the HD box, but at much more hardware expense for the actual distribution system (£2-4k).

If you are serious about putting in some proper HD distribution I would consider moving both boxes into a central location and matrix switching out from there. This way any TV in the house will be able to watch any box (you could also put in DVD server/player, Apple TV, PS3 etc).
