What is wrong with my Samsung DLP?

We just noticed it start looking like this about a week or two ago. For some reason when it is powered OFF... it looks like the pictures below (with what looks like a hazy ring around the entire screen). Depending on what angle you sit at it is worse than other angles. We never use cleaner when cleaning it and only use the antistatic cloth that came with it to dust it on occasion. It is "clean" right now but looks like that.

Now when the TV is on... it looks fine unless you are watching something that is almost black (something with a dark night shot) and then you can kinda see it but not as clearly as when it is turned off.

It isn't a reflection because we can still see it when somebody walks by and a shadow falls on the tv.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Re: What is wrong with my Samsung DLP?

Some Samsungs suffer from delamination issues with the screen but it could be condensation damage or heat damage.

What ever it is, its not good, contact Samsung, Dont worry about it being out of warranty, this should be classed as a manufacturing defect.

They should offer to replace the screen.
