Half of the screen is darker - what is wrong

Strange problem on my Sony TV, one half of the screen vertically is darker then the other half. It is only visible in very dark scenes or with totally black screen. One side of the screen is pitch black while the other (left) side is a tone lighter.
It happens on my Sony 32FX66 with S-video input from DVD (DV533). Anyone seen that? What could be wrong here???
