Buzzing coming from speakers?

Hello, I've had a good look around the forum but it only seems to be questions about LCD or Plasma TV's and mine isn't either.

My TV is a Panasonic TX-32PK2 and i got it from the girlfriends parents yesterday. When i plugged it all in and switched it on i noticed a buzzing noise coming from both left and right speakers.

When you switch the TV off the buzzing stops.
When you switch mute on the buzzing is still there.
When i switch all my other electronics hooked up to the TV like Sky and my DVD player the buzzing is still there.
When the TV is on but there is a black screen the buzzing stops.
The buzzing gets louder or quieter depending on weather there are any bright colours on the screen.
When I play a DVD the buzzing is still there.

I have tried unplugging everything apart from the TV and moving eveything away from it and still the buzzing is there.

Any ideas on how to stop this buzzing would be much appreciated cos its killing me

Re: Buzzing coming from speakers?

I can't answer you, sorry to get you here on a wild goose chase. I'm just chatting now because I feel bad for you, I know how maddening it is because I get the same thing.

I've got several PVRs and an HDD/DVDR attached to my TV and I'm using a dreaded SCART splitter - I think it was only when I attached the splitter that the problem started. Like you say, the volume of the buzzing changes when scenes on the TV change.

I'm tolerating it because I can't think of a better way to set up all my gadgets with only 2 SCART sockets in the TV (daisy-chaining doesn't give me the control I want). I'm already using S-video for one of the PVRs (picture quality is the same as via SCART). There's no buzzing when viewing via that PVR, so it's something to do with SCART in my case.

I do hope someone comes along with advice for you.
