How do you know if your lenses are miss firing or the bulbs are going.I have a panasonic 42 rear pro and have had some pink patches appearing on the left hand side but they move around and at times dissapear.This has been going on for a while and now has been joined with a green/blue area in the bottom right corner?.

Any ideas?

I have the dreaded green blue bit in the corner as well, the pink patches are apparently down to bacteria ???, I was told yesterday that Panasonic are recalling all of there RP tv sets.

So this morning I am not a happy bunny as my Panny 42" has got to go and all i get for a replacement is

1, pay more for a 42" plasma £1900 ( which I don't have )
2, have a 36" CRT which is the PD30 I think as a replacement

now i am going to ring panasonic uk today so will let you know,

we need to get hold of laurel as he's got the same set as us i try to contact him...

I had 2 panny rp tvs. Same as Laurel. Both were bust in a matter of weeks. Also the model I had was only available for about 2 months before it was withdrawn. I think Panny had a lot of grief with their rp tvs. I then went to Tosh but also had problems. Now I have a Sony and its great. Hope you get sorted

another thing, I had 3 crt pannys before these ones and all of them had the MOIRE patterning when watching reg 1 discs. VERY annoying. i will avoid panny tvs now

This is my 2nd set as the 1st broke on the second day.I was very happy until these latest problems, I've put up with these patches for a few months now and I've had enough.Phoned Panasonic at first but got nowhere and where I bought the set from just passed me to the repair center which wanted money brfore doing a thing.How do I get Panasonic to take back and replace the set.My gaurantee has run out however I hid pay extra to cover the lenses?A friend of mine told me under EC law any electric item sold is gauranteed for 5 years by the manufacture? any help out there

not sure on that. I know that you have a reasonable ammount of time to get it replaced or fixed. if you spend £1500 on a tv it is expectede to last longer than say 4 years. There was a thread n here a while back over this and a guy who went to court and he won. Fair enough if it was a £20 kettle!!! but a tv for that money. NO WAY. Ask trading Standards
