Toshiba 32ZD26P

I nipped into my local argos on saturday and found the famous toshiba 32zd26p up for sale as a managers special, which means it is selling for just £550
According to the manager,it's never been used even in the store and they are selling it cheap becuase of delivery of new stock.

I have a 32 inch widescreen toshiba, with components socketry, but no progressive scan, i have never been happy with this telly, even though i bought it just last year.

I wanted to hang on until i get a telly with both PAL/NTSC progressive scan as i have the denon dvd 2900 which is capable of PAL/NTSC progressive scan. But this televisions deal from argos is too attractive to miss.

I had spotted the panasonic TV's with progressive scan, but the cheapest i have seen is going for £1150

After all 80% of my dvd's are regions 1NTSC so i should be able to enjoy NTSC progressive scan most of the time.

What is your opinions guys, especially from owners of the Toshiba 32 zd26 p ???

Definitely worth buying for that price. I have the 36 inch version which produces one of the best pictures I have seen on a CRT.

With regards to progressive scan, you can watch NTSC material from your DVD player outputting "true" progressive scan. For PAL material the TV has it's own "Progress Mode" which uses an internal de-interlacer to deliver a pseudo progressive scan image.

Hope this helps.

Joe, I got my 32ZD26P 2 months ago from Digital Point for £671. I can only say that I am more than satisfied with it. The picture quality was great from day one but I noticed after using it for a
about a month the pic quality had markedly improved. I don't know if TV's are the same as some hi-fi equipment where the
quality improves after burn-in. Anyway, I can heartily recommend
this tv, I just love mine.

It was an offer which I drew forum members' attention to in the 'Special Offers' forum a few months ago, and only lasted for a day or two.

The price has since gone back up.
