Thomson CRT TV Error - Help Needed

Howdy Folks,
I am hoping the collective wisdom of this forum can help me as i am currently without a working tv

I have a Thomson 28 inch CRT with model numbers 28wx411 & 459/icc20.

Basically the tv goes in to standby intermittently and the LED flashes twice then a pause then another 7 flashes.

It doesnt happen all the time and could be fine for a few days but then will happen all night on other nights.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated
thanks in advance
ed

Re: Thomson CRT TV Error - Help Needed

The most likely cause of this is a dry joint on CL033 which is a 510nF/250V cap located roughly centre of the left-hand side combined timebase/power supply board (looking from the rear).
The cap must be replaced...it is not just a case of resoldering the joint.
