Glasses free 3DTV

Been to IBC 2012 show and both Sony and Dolby/Philips are demonstrating there glasses free tv ! Both impressive, with Dolby 3D display being the best out of the two, though to be fare Sony was showing there R&D sample. Even the angle of view was mighty impressive ! :-)

Glasses free is something I'll probably hold out for in the long term...but how does it compare? Also you mention viewing angles as 'impressive' - but what does 'impressive' mean - it's very subjective!?

The Dolby 3D display was very impressive, 3D didn't appear to "pop out" as much active or passive 3D, but may have been the material they where using, but was still impressive ! There are sweet spots where the image is sharp as you change your viewing angle (every new degrees) and there are spots where the image is slightly fuzzy (difficult to explain), viewing angle was about 170deg ! So you could be right the way to side of the display and still have a 3D effect !

sounds good but I'm probably going to wait a couple of years for the tech to perfect.

As I read from somewhere, even Samsung announced that the free glasses 3D technology will not be successful in 10 years. Anyway, it is a good sign of innovation. When one manufacturer started, the others would definitely develop their owns. Maybe we don't have to wait that long, only few years ahead probably.
