The 3d is between sd and 720p depending on source to each eye. It doesn't drop the overall resolution of the image. The passive sets are similar, if not lower in resolution. So far I'm pleased and I've watched loads of 3d.
I have looked at the Samsung D6530, but if 3D gaming on a Xbox 360 drops to 540p, then I'm out (As I use my 360 far more than my PS3) I'm just trying to get a TV that will last me a few years, that's all.

I'm leaning towards the Toshiba 40TL868, but the official thread on these forums for that set, don't feel me with confidence about getting a good one!

Thanks for your help, people ; )

EDIT: Yes, I know people have said "Take the scare stories about set problems with a pinch of salt" etc, but there's quite a few in the Toshiba thread.

People have also said that other people post about bad things, not good ones, and for every bad one there's likely to be a hundred good ones - maybe more.

On my Samsung D6530 while watching the football on itv1HD, the itv1HD badge in the top right hand corner gets distorted when the camera moves quickly and so does the football! Is anyone else experiencing anything similar?

I've been told this isn't a fault, just with this model because the picture is very good, when the camera pans quickly it can't maintain that quality at high speed so therefor you get picture lag.

Any opinions would be great fully recieved!

Its got nothing to do with screen resolution or picture quality.

It's called motion blur and all LCD's suffer from this to some extent. It's caused by the pixel response time on LCD screens being quite slow coupled with screen refresh rate... in fact have a look at my reply on this thread for more- http://www.avforums.com/forums/3d-tv...570t-50hz.html

No, LED Tv's are just LCD screens that use LED backlighting, you are probably thinking of OLED (Organic light emiting diode) or AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light emitting diode) which are the new very expensive technologies that improve pixel response times they will probably replace LCD/LED screens eventualy but are only available at the premium end of the market at the moment.

Sony also has a new led screen coming out that uses individual LEDs for each pixel or should I say three for each pixel. Think they are calling it crystal display. Gonna be very expensive me thinks.
