Hi, new here but really would like some ones help, I am useless with things like this!!
Just bought this tv from tesco today, have spent the last 2 hours trying to suss it out. I have plugged in all connections in tv at back, i have a virgin media box too.
Now, the channels are working with my virgin box its just when i try the 3d its not right. if there is a person on it shows 2 of them on either side of the screen(a bit like a mirror image).
The way its going i will be boxing this back up and returning it tomorrow as im not willing to pay £48.97 for set up by tesco!!

Incidently, in my local tesco today(horwich) i asked a man what had happened to the offer and he said they had sold out. When i came home and looked on line the blue ray player advertised on line is the ones they had at tesco in boxes under the display tv??? Something not right there???

Side by side 3D is quite normal. Are you sure you enabled 3D mode on the tv it should combine the two pictures to one.

Press the 3D button on your remote and you should see an on screen message saying something like '3D please put on your glasses' In the top right hand corner of the screen you will see an option to select either 3D with 2D underneath, Select 3D and enjoy.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, have read all instructions and followed them so hopefully i am doing things right. Still not had any luck, in fact things are worse, disconnected the virgin box and started the whole process from scartch and now every single channel says "3d not supported".

This is what i have done numerous times. It still has images of people on both sides of the screen.

This sounds like the comparability issue with earlier virgin box's. Virgin should be releasing an update to resolve by mid jan I think was mentioned before?

Well I finally went and had a look at this as I wanted a new TV for the livingroom and I was undecided whether to go 3D. I check this one out at Tesco and a few others at local eletrical stores. Must admit when I first saw the Technika I did think mmm not too bad....But the last place I went was the Panny dealership and I saw a TX-P42ST30B and it was far superior I am talking 100% better picture. It was more expensive in the Panny store but when I did a search online it could be had from Amazon for £449 and I think that is a proper bargain for a brilliant TV. I know the glasses are more but as 99% of viewing would be 2D then I figured is it worth having the 3D. So in the end I decided to get the non 3D model of the Panny TX-P42S30B for £399 and wait to upgrade my projector to 3D later in the year. Hope this helps somebody Steve

I'd say that was a good call. The pannys this year are very good at 2d (and one of the best at 3d...) so if 99% is 2d it makes sense to get a set that excels there. I did the same, but splashed out on the st for the odd bit of 3d. If I ever buy some glasses...

I very nearly did the same mate for the future but I do think 3D appears better on a much bigger screen like my 120" lol.

You mean you have a SBS (side by side) picture.
What is the source?
A 3D BD from a 3D BD player/PS3> or Sky/Virgin, or a file played from USB or a BD player?

I did that and two 3d images came up not just one full screen 3d image and does it have to be a 3d channel to watch in 3d

If you are getting side by side images, your box is displaying 3d. It's your tv that is either not working, or just confused at to what format the 3d is in. Are there any settings where you can change it to side by side (sbs)?

Now that I'm home...

I press 3d. Then I can press the red button labeled Manual. Here I can choose whether I was top and bottom, side by side, etc. This is the kind if menu you are looking for

Edit. By red button I mean the normal one on the remote. It says Manual on screen
