So if you sent off yesterday for this offer
You could at a stretch have avatar 3d in your hands 2moro ;-)
Or will they wait til 15th when extended versions out?
Who'll be the first poster to get this disc in his grubby mitts?
When's the first review?

I for one bought the package before nov and i truly hope the rest of us do not get left behind. It seem the americans seem to be treated much better than we do here in the uk as panasonic has already made the offer that existing customers in the US will also be eligable.

Hopefully i will speak to my dealer about this on Monday to see if there any changes.
Bummer! I only bought the TV and Bluray player a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if Panasonic UK could be persuaded into changing the offer to match the backdated offer given to purchases in the US - are there any AVForum members who have any influence with Panasonic UK. I might just submit a copy of my receipt anyway and see what happens. They may take pity on us trailblazers.

No chance i have tried numerous times, as far as they are concerned this for new customers and any old customers have had their offer. They will not change this, but i will say is their attitude and the way they talk to customers is disgraceful. They even had the audacity to say i should not have purchased their products early on and should have waited. They really treat uk customers badly compared to those in the us.

At least they should have allowed existing customers to purchase the Avatar 3D at discounted rate, but they don't have the foresight to think like that.

I am beyond ****** off about the way us early adoptera have been screwed over on this one. I spent over £4500 for my 65" and Bluray player 6 weeks ago and now I'm being treated like **** after commiting to this technology. I am tempted to buy a copy from eBay and MASS duplicate it and offer it to ANYONE free of charge out of spite. Fu*k Panasonic, they are not selling the disc and I wont attempt to make a profit, so no crime commited. I just want to **** on thier EXCLUSIVE parade out of sheer spite over thier mean minded attitude. So EXCLUSIVE not even thier own customers can obtain copies!!!! It's insane. Watch this space, I am SOOOOOOOO annoyed.

Thanks dmk1198, it takes the doesnt it? Dont feel too sorry for me though & I guess I shouldnt whine too much, as I'm sat here tapping this reply on my PC using a 65" 3D Plasma as a monitor; it aint all bad news ;-) I just find the whole exclusive content game playing thats going on so counter productive especially when it starts to effect brand champions which after all early adopters are. I am resigned to buying a copy on eBay for some horrendous amount which is where I suspect almost all the promo copies of this film with end up, charming!!!

Wow, so in France and Germany you can get it whether you buy a tv or a Blu-ray player, yet in the UK you only get it if you buy a package, well that's definitely one Blu-ray player sale they've lost!

Anyway I think waiting a couple of weeks and getting the extended 3D edition will be a better option, especially now!

I dont understand the deal at all, I'm not convinced such a short exclusive period is really that beneficial. In real terms I dont think a 3 month window where you still have to spend at least £1500 on a TV to get a specific movie is a great pull.

Hopefully Fox will be doing to Panasonic what Panasonic have done to the UK and stitched them right up, giving them the exclusive on the theatrical version then releasing an extended version to everyone else!
You know it makes sense

These exclusive deals are just rubbish

Some bad person has already released this into the wild anyway, maybe the studios should take note so that they dont end up losing revenue from the paying customer who cant be bothered waiting. Mind you, im sure Panasonic paid quite a bit to get this in an exclusive deal.

I think it's more about market share - if you are inclined to buy a 3d TV then you may be tempted to go for the Panasonic offer rather than one of the others. Don't think it will make somebody buy a 3D TV that wasn't interested before.

After sending several emails to Panasonic through their website I finally had a reply and they are trying to get more copies to send to early adopters. Just keep trying and you may be lucky.

Got the same email from Panasonic stating they will send me a copy if I send on my receipts. They did state that as I brought the TV in October I would only get Avatar and not the other 3 films in the promotion. I will live with that if I get a copy.

You guys will love it, watched it twice already now and its just stunning, edasily the best 3D disc by far, although A Christmas Carol is a very close second.
