Sony KDL-32W4000 PC/Mac resolution

Hi,
I am thinking of buying this screen. I would be using the Mac Mini as its source, connected via DVI > HDMI.

Does anyone have this screen and if so can you tell me what the highest resolution that I could obtain is? I was assuming 1920x1080px, as it's a 1080p screen. On looking at the manual though (http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/3298243122.pdf) page 35, it appears that the max resoution when connecting a pc over VGA (D-SUB) or HDMI, is 1280x1024.

I can't understand why a source such as a PS3 can obtain the full resolution, whereas a PC/Mac with a compatible graphics card couldn't? It wouldn't make sence!

I'm sure it is possible, but I've got that annoying itch for a 100% assurance now that I've looked at the manual.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Mez

Re: Sony KDL-32W4000 PC/Mac resolution

Sorry to bring this thread back up but I'm intending to buy this set this weekend.

Can a current owner of the 32W4000 confirm if this set accepts a 1920x1080 PC signal via HDMI and D-Sub. I'm looking to hook this up to my iMac and it's a dealbreaker if it can only go to 1300-oddx768 as per the manual.
