Philips 42PFL5603D - Any opinions on it?

Hi!

I'm going to purchase a new HDTV soon. It will be used mainly for gaming (from my Commodore Amiga 500 to the latest 3 consoles of this generation), DVD/Div-X and SD TV. Given this, I believe I have to be special careful with upscaling. Other issues I'm worried is reflection (the room is very lighty), black levels and lag.

From my research, my choice is now the Philips 42PFL5603D, since Philips has normally very nice reviews. But I can't find any other reviews for this model. Only CNET's one and I simply don't trust them. Does anyone here has it?

I also considered other models such as:

- Sony KDL40W400, which is smaller and more expensive;

- Panasonic TH42PZ81, which is more expensive and is a plasma, which means we have to take special care, specially in the beginning (I'm right here, right?);

- Panasonic TH42PX8, which has a very nice price that could leave me to forget the plasma issue, but is not Full HD.

About Samsung and LG, I really don't like the image of the cheaper models and for the price of the good ones I can get better options.

So, if you know anything about the Philips, please tell me. If you have any comments on what I said or suggestions, it would be appreciated.

as you will be watching SD sources (DVD/Div-X and SD TV=576p) you don't need full HD screen (HD ready is min 720p).

but, you mentioned a lot of gaming... so you should stick to LCD...

Avoid Philips for gaming (high input lag), consider Sony or Toshiba LCD HDTVs.

Thanks Tony. Yes, I'll stick to LCD.

This input lag happens in every model?

I found the Phillips 42PFL7603H for a nice price in one online retailler and I was considering it. But... lag is very very important issue to me, so if it's confirmed I'll not consider it.
