Having a Samsung for about 11 months, I wouldn't recommend another one. The features are great, as are the actual panels. But the electronics and firmware behind them are lousy. When I upgrade to Blu-Ray my M86 will be unwatchable (24hz hum bars) also with PAL.

Re: 40" Samsung, Sony or Toshiba??

I have to agree that thats exactly the problem with samsung.Their PQ is great but the electronics inside are problematic as bob says.Between the other two I usually suggest the 40V3000,so as a change I suggest you the 40XF355 as its also an excellent set with slim bezel too.The only worrying thing is the common backlight bleed issues
