best 46" gamer tv?

Im looking for something to replace my Samsung Le-32m61.

I only use it for gaming on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and watching movies on Blu-Ray and Dvd.
The most important is gaming though. Now i have no idea about the market at the moment, only thing i know is i want Full-HD and a 46" and the price about 900 in GBP. I am from Denmark though, so the prices might vary.. Also it could be plasma, i don't really know the difference atm anyway. A lot of people seem to be recommending plasma at the moment...

any suggestions?

If you play your xbox most of the time, its better to stay away from plasmas(no matter what people say about plasmas not having too serious image retention). If you can afford, i would suggest Z5500. If your budget is not that high, you could also consider Samsung 46B550. Its not best for gaming but reviews suggest it has best value for money.

Have a look at the Sony W5500 and Samsung B650. Both reasonably priced, and packed with features (including 100Hz).

For gamers i think the SL8000 is the champ, input lag is around 10-20ms opposed to the 30-50ms that the sony and sams can give u, no contest.

just ordered a KDL- 465710 from the Sony Centre.

They are still doing the trade in thing which knocks £150 off and then had a further 10% promotion this weekend.

Paid £ 1035 inc the 5 year warranty. I was happy with this. Sony warranty as well - register on line with the code on the receipt.

Best price I had seen anywhere near this was RS with approx £1054 inc the warranty.

I hope it does the job. Collecting on Friday.

Cheers

Paul

Is this identical to the W5500 as I can't see any difference on their site? Let us know what you think when you get it... :-)

Thanks for the input everybody.
I am really considering the Toshiba Regza 46XV635D.. seems to be pretty good value for the money, and i can save almost 50% buy buying at amazon.co.uk instead of here in Denmark.
I usually go for Samsung though, but i might just try something new..can anyone confirm that the ms is @ 5? and can anybody link to a review i could only find one, which was at trustedreviews.

The only difference is cosmetic. Otherwise exactly the same spec.

I will let you know when I get it and fired it up.

It's not a bad TV, but I just hate the way they look (just my opinion).

If you're paying this much for a TV, it needs to look good as well! Even if it was the most ultimate TV on paper, if it looks like crap the money is pretty much wasted in my view.

I would still take the Samsung B650 over the Sony W5500.

both are really good TVs but none of them is a performer in terms of input lag with sony has a little bit of upper hand.

if u are a casuall gammer then the W5500 is a great choice. in gamemode it is fairly playable even games like MW2. but dont plant to go online with that cuz u gonna get pown

I took the wife to have a look at one today, straight away she said she didn't like it and that she preferred the look of the Samsung B650

hmm yeah now that you mention it, I've never really liked the look of the Sony LCD's. I like the look of the Toshiba however.

The set is primarily going to be used for gaming, and is only going to be fed with HD sources. No TV at all, just bluray and gaming, but far mostly gaming. So taking that into consideration would you guys still say the toshiba 46cv635D is the choice of these?

If you shop around you could get a Sony 46W5500 for around that price... meant to be one of the best TV's out (in its price range).

Toshiba 46" 46xv625DG

Toshiba 47" 3030DG

Panasonic (plasma) TH-P50S10A

Don't know what the diff is between the LG 47LH3000 and the LH5000 but i would recommend the LG, i got my 47LH5000 yesterday and was blown away.

To test it i booted up the PS3 and had a quick go at a few of the games, and then switched over to my beloved 360 and Assassins Creed II

It was amazing, plus Dixons are doing a deal on the 5000 and selling it for 699 so that's 50 quid more than the 3000.

I did originally look at getting the Sony W5500 but then i realised that for the same money i could get a TV and a PS3 and a Harmony One so i went with the LG

Lh5000

I'm with iPanic.

Go for LH5000. I'm gonna do it myself after looking at at least 20 different tv:s.

I'm gonna wait for the "middle-days sale" which they have here in Sweden. It will probably drop about 300 euros in price.

I'm also concidering Samsung's B650. But due to the input lag I'm not that sure anymore.

I play a lot of xbox. And watch standard definition tv.
