Advice - Good Gaming TV 37-42 inch around £500?

hi everyone,

this is my first post so sorry if I make any silly mistakes in what I'm asking. Thanks in advance to anyone with any advice and thanks to peeps for just reading too. Right, here we go.

I'm looking to buy a TV specifically for gaming. The specs I'm sure of are:

Very good blacks / contrast
37-40 inch
Around £500 budget
1080p
Excellent for gaming both in image quality and motion handling.
VGA port
Some form of sound out be it a headphone jack or phonos

My main queries while taking the above in to account are:

Plasma or LCD?

Controller Lag - is it negligible now?

And then of course... What TV? :P

Thanks a lot to anyone with advice in advance! It's massively appreciated

For gaming a Plasma is probably best.

Yes, but you are stuck with the 720p 37X10 for ~£500

If 1080p a must, look at the 40b530 from Samsung or LG LH3000

You'll need to check the specs for the other required gubbins
