26" LCD for bedroom. Panasonic vs Sony

Hi, I'm looking for a 26" TV for the bedroom and have narrowed the choice down to the following;

Panasonic TX-L26X10B
Sony KDL26S5500

I'll be connecting a Denon-1920 DVD player (HDMI) to it and occasionally a PS3 - when my wife kicks me out of the living room

The PS3 is normally connected to a Panasonic TX-32LXD70.

I'm really happy with my current Panasonic but am interested in the Sony although I've read that it doesn't support 1080p ? Does that really matter with a 26" screen?

so what's the best?

Hi Red.

Very similar situation to myself. I'm looking for a good quality 26" for the bedroom for Freeview and the odd dvd.

I'd got it down to the Panasonic and Sony and was veering towards Panasonic because I have a Panasonic dvd player and it gets (perhaps) slightly better reviews.

Anybody offer advice on which of these we should go for?
Is there any other 26" that should be added to the list?

Many thanks.
