Looking for 52" and over TV - Any recommendations?

Ok so im looking for a TV that is 52" or over, i've been looking through this forum and little confused so you wonderful people can help me out :D

First question would be, is it better off getting a plasma or lcd for the size i want? The TV will mainly be for watching SKYHD/Movies, PS3 and 360 will be played on it but rarely since they will be connected upstairs.

I have a max of £2500 to spend on a tv so want it to be pretty good so what would you people recommend in that price range?

Thanks for your help :D

See if you can find a Pioneer 6090, think in budget? Otherwise, the top end Philips, Sony and Samsung are pretty good for your needs

Lol nothing cheaper than 3000 =[

I have taken a look at the Sony z5500 and looks pretty good. What about the samsung models?

Also forgot to mention, whats this LED business? The design of the TVs look really cool but performance wise are they any good?

LED seems pretty flawed right now, Samsung 8000 might be worth a look

Lots of reviews around for the B650 in other sizes

60" LG plasma also worth a look I guess http://www.soundandvision.co.uk/tv/plasma/lg-60ps8000

Kuro here http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001JFDSR...SIN=B001JFDSRW

Check the plasma forum too, some of the guys over there may know of some in stock somewhere

Ha just under 2500

The lg looks pretty sweet too lol...ARGH too many models/too many specs! Just makes things harder to pick.

Found stuff on the b650, is there any real difference between 100hz compared to sonys 200hz?

nothing better than Z5500 really, from the lcd side. Its motion 200Hz is unbeatable, colour performance as well.If you want to save up money, you can opt for the 52W5500 with 100Hz instead of 200Hz
