What is the best 37 inch LCD TV?

Hi

Like so many others (I hope), after having spent weeks reading online reviews, forums and various magazines, spending many futile hours in major stores looking at display TV's and convincing my self I am now an expert on 32 - 37 inch LCD TV's, I bought a Panasonic TX-L37G10 only to return it three days later due to it's dreadful black levels (as implied by the excellent review on AVForums) the experience also put me off buying the V10.

So I am now back to square one.

Is there anyone who could kindly help me and suggest what is the best 37" LCD on the market today? Or is it better to wait until 2010

A 37" TV is the largest panel our room can cope with, the budget is £800.00 and picture quality for SD/HD and Blue Ray viewing is priority (ie not too bothered about the 'looks' of the LCD, or if it has 5 HDMI outputs and can be connected to You tube etc...Freesat would be a bonus - hence the reason why I chose the panasonic)

Any comments would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks for the reply, I have looked at the Plasma and was impressed by the picture on the display TV, however, I was put off considering it seriously by the review in the What Plasma & LCD TV magazine ("Affordable but unexciting HD Ready Plasma").

I'm not sure if the review can be 'googled' but the review of the P37X10 on the Techradar site comes to a similar conclusion - if you ever come accross either review I would be interested to know what you think of their comments !

In the meantime I will take another more serious look at the plasma. Thanks

+1. P37X10 at Richer Sounds for £449. Absolutely no need to spend £800 on a 37"er

Had a look at the reviews for the LG and and also the Panasonic Plasma's mentioned - all excellent contenders - I hope to find the LG and have a look at it tomorrow along with the P37's
