Looking to get a 42 inch 1080p LCD

Hi all,

Looking to get a 42 inch 1080p LCD.

Will be used for 360/PS2 and sat/cable TV. Budget around £500 but would prefer upto £400 (please forgive me if im not being realistic, but Im assuming prices have come down a lot).

What make/model would anyone recommend me, and would there be any price cuts in the new year?

Cheers.

£500 is pretty ambitious given your requirements, let alone £400

Best bet is the Samsung 40b530 which is around £480 from Dixons or Richer Sounds (with one year warranty)

Otherwise, if 42", pretty much your only option near to budget is the LG42LH3000

LG 42LH3000 42-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo

Or the Toshiba 42rv635

Toshiba 42RV635DB 42" Full HD 1080p Lcd Television | Beyond Television

Dixons don't have shops anymore - but you can go to Currys who are the same group. A couple of years ago a TV of that size would have been a grand, so prices have come down. You may find a deal through quidco (indeed for Dixons). Screen size wise, I don't think you'll see much difference between the 40 and 42"
