LCD for <£500 for freeview & dvd use?

Hi folks,

just after a quick recommendation. My 32" sony crt is about to die after 7 years solid service, so I might be forced into upgrading.

I don't have any hd devices, have no real desire to buy a blueray player or anything, my collection of dvds and normal (slightly dodgy reception) freeview are the only thing I use the tv for.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I've read occasionally that the nice uber hd tvs aren't so good for sd, which obviously would be no help.

Budget of somewhere around 500quid, not after a massive tv, something bigger than my 32 inch would be nice.

Any help would be most gratefully received,

cheers,
Si

Panasonic 37X10 plasma, top set for your uses, £499 from John Lewis with delivery and warranty (but you should be able to get it cheaper through a PM against Richer Sounds)

thanks! looks great, although john lewis are rather unhelpfully out of stock. Seems to make sense to wait for the decent warranty though.

Cheers,
Si
