Are there any decent/cheap 22" LCD TV's?

Hey all,

I'm looking for a 22" LCD TV for my mother-in-law for her bedroom as she's coming out of hospital and will be bed bound for a while.

I know that the sound on these things is generally pretty rubbish, but any suggestions would be welcome. Budget is reasonably tight so probably won't go much over £220.

I would love to get her a bigger 26" (even if it means spending a bit more), but she will probably go bonkers over the size. I tried to persuade her with a 42" Plasma downstairs, but she eventually went with the 37" Panny, even though her main viewing distance is quite large.

Funnily enough, I was looking at both the LG and Samsungs, although I was looking at the LG TVs (22LU4000, 4010 or 5000) rather than the multifunction monitors. Also, after looking on the Samsung site the latest 22" TV seems to be the LE22S86BD

The only thing with the newer Samsung (LE22S86BD) is the that resolution is a PC type res of 1680x1050. Sometime there are scaling issue with this res. The res on the Samsung you spec (LE22B450) is a 1366x768, but the cost seems very acceptable.

Surely that is fine for SD TV, not being used for PC

Sorry, I should have said - yes -the lower res (1366x768) often has better performance and les scaling issue - especially on screen sizes this small). In fact my Pioneer 42" Plasma only has this res - and I still think it one of the best picture going.

I recently got a 22" UMC HD ready TV (1680x1050) - for the money (£115) its spot on.
