I was in the market for a 42" and was set on an LG Lh3000 until i came across the Toshiba XV635. I know the LG i was looking at is a different model from what youre looking at but i havent regretted going for the Toshiba. Think i can speak for a lot of folk on here aswell. Have only read glowing reports for the XV

I would way over all the LG is better.

better color accuracy, gray scale, UI, user friendly, more features.

The H5000 is a great set I would recommend that.

The black level is about the same, neither of these set is a black level peformer, but they do have acceptable black level, and the LG after caribration offers a very natural balanced pictures.
