If you visit most of the high street electrical goods retailers and go to look at a Samsung 32" LCD TV Model LE32B530 ask yourself this question: Is this the exact same variant model number that all the shops are selling?
Well, today my friend and I discovered something which is making us question whether we are comparing like for like products?
We visited most of the major high street retailers and everyone offered us the Samsung 32" LCD TV Model Number LE32B530P7WXXU between £349.99 to £379.99 and what a fine TV it is!
Happy with our market research on the model we wanted, we then went onto the next stage of trying to improve our already lowest price deal of £349.99 by visiting a famous named department store who are well known for price matching and including a free 5 year parts and labour warranty.
Once in the TV department we made our intentions known to the sales assistant and they filled in the relvant "price match application form" and sent it off for approval. We are awaiting this reply which we have been told will take about 5 days of which we have no problem with however, we may have a problem with the specification and or build standard?
When we looked a little closer at the TV it was then that we noticed there is a slight differences between what we had been viewing at all the other stores up and down the high street.
It had the 3rd HDMI port and a set of composite connections tucked away in a recess to the rear left hand side of the set unlike all the others we had been viewing in other retailers which had the same ports located in a recess to the rear right hand side? (Viewing from the front)
Now I know what you might be saying, what difference does it make if the connection ports are on one side or the other as long as the model number is the same then they are the same?
We could not get around the back of the relevant TV to see what the full model number was however, we are fairly confident it will not be the same as all the others being offered on the high street which is LE32B530P7WXXU.
We are therefore appealing to fellow AV Forum members for advice if they have purchased one of TV's from the said department store and if so did it have the 3rd HDMI port and composite connections located on the rear left hand side of the set as described?
Is the build quality, picture quality and specification as the LE32B530P7WXXU?
We have scoured the internet to try find a website which displays photographs from all viewing angles of a similar looking model advertised in Europe called the Samsung LE32B530P7WXZG, to see if this has the 3rd HDMI port and the composite connections on the opposite side to the LE32B530P7WXXU however, we have been unsuccesful.
Any guidance from fellow AV Forum members would be appreciated.
( Not sure we are allowed to print the said famous department store name so that's why we refer to them as they who give away a free 5 year warranty with their TV's! And I believe most AV Forum members will know who that is? )
Phew!!!!!! Thanks for reading!!!!!
