Toshiba cashback offer

Just a heads up for anyone thinking of buying a TV over the next couple of months. Toshiba have a £100 cashback offer on the 37, 42 and 46XV635 models purchased from certain vendors only. The promotion runs until 11 November. The link below gives details of the offer and the participating vendors.

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

The XV series have an awful lot of kit for the money... for an extra £100 off, it becomes very appealing, although would that £100 already be realized from cheaper outlets..

Cheers 4 the heads up tho

In answer to the point you raised, no. The £100 is available from a number of the lowest priced outlets on Pricerunner. All good news!

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

Hi,
Probably more important news is that Toshiba are offering a 3 Year manufacturer Warranty on the XV models bought from certain dealers. I do not know if this applies to the rest of their range.

Info from the Toshiba website - XV Warrany Promotion

Links to this -

Mine came up with Comet and Currys, so I would think that it applies to most bricks and mortar places.

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

That's interesting. I was in my local Comet yesterday and there was no mention of a 3 year warranty. I even spoke to the salesman at length about the Toshiba. Also, looking at Comet's website now, there is no mention of the extended warranty. Peculiar!

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

Thats a great offer from Toshiba! I'm just wondering what to do now with regards to buying the 37XV635DB...

1) Buy it for £529 with a 5 year warantee from John Lewis by getting them to price match Crampton & Moore.

2) Buy it for £449 without an extended warantee from Amazon with the £100 cashback.

Does anyone think its worth spending an extra £80 for a 5 year warantee?

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

I tried to get JL Solihull to price match it before I found out about the cash back offer. However, the person I spoke to said the model I was interested in (42") was only available through JL online so they wouldn't price match it. It may be different with the 37" model. Good luck.

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

I am thinking of getting the 46 from Amazon (seems to be the best price inc. delivery) but I cannot see if they do the extended warrenty.

Does anyone know which e-tailers are doing it? I can see digital direct are doing it but I don't really want to use them as my Last TV has died and they just don't want to know so I am refusing to give them anymore business.

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

Digital Direct are doing the £100 cash back. The three year warranty they are offering is their own not the manufacturer's one, I believe.

From looking at the Toshiba warranty and cash back offer web pages, it seems to me that Toshiba are giving both options to their vendors and the vendors can sign up for which offer they want to participate in. That's why the cash back page lists various participating vendors but the extended warranty page doesn't list any participants.

I may be wrong but that's the way it looks to me.

Re: Toshiba cashback offer

If you look at the terms and conditions of this offer on the Toshiba website, it lists the retailers that are participating in this £100 cashback offer...

Toshiba LCD TV Cashback

From my understanding this is an offer from Toshiba, and it is Toshiba that will give you back the £100. Not the retailers. So the retailers do not necessarily have to state this offer on their website.

What you do is buy the TV from one of the participating retailers at their normal price, and then you claim back the £100 directly from Toshiba by registering with them and sending your proof of purchase and things.

It has had some decent reviews, however I believe it uses the LG S-IPS panel which isn't the best in terms of Contrast. However, I think the 46 inch version cannot use that panel since it is only available in 47 - the 46 and 32 might use the same panel as Sony/Samsung.

From what I believe, Amazon actually buy a lot of kit without warranty - their maths work it out that it is cheaper to refund/replace. Had this (albeit with a lower value adsl router ) and they just refunded the money straight off - after 11 months
