had decided upon a 7000 or 8000 series Samsung set until I read a couple of issues that spooked me, one was the fact that the screens are demonstrated in-store with the LED's at 100%, at home the brightest backlight available is 60%. Then there are the questions of input lag, backlight uniformity and auto-dimming. It was just too much. Just as I'd almost given-up hope for a set I'd be happy with, Panasonic release the V10. Yes it's not as pretty as the Samsung, but apparently it's got it where it counts, and that is picture quality. I'll just have to be careful with the dreaded plasma retention/burn, but that should be fine.
