Pioneer 43" plasma mounting assistance required

Hi all,

I am just about to move house and will be removing my trusty Pioneer plasma from it's lovely swivel stand home and thrusting it out on it's own onto a lonely wall

My issue is this: I worked with my builder to create a nice little cable run in the wall that has a hole just to the right of centre to house all the leads but I'm struggling to find a mount that isn't pretty much solid metal against the wall.

Given that a mount like that would cover the hole it's not much use to me!

So - question is: do any of you know (or can recommend) a tilting wall mounting bracket for a 43" pioneer plasma screen that isn't solid metal at the back? Ideally I want something that is as slim as possible, but any ideas or answers would be welcome

Cheers all

Hi

We have the perfect solution for you; M-Form - 32" to 50" Tilting Universal LCD/Plasma Bracket

This bracket will fit your Pioneer, is GS/TUV rated to 75Kgs and has tilt both upwards and downwards for easier cable access.

The depth is 60mm, however with a 46" TV you need this depth to be able to tilt the TV to a decent amount without the TV hitting the wall.

This bracket benefits from Free Delivery and our Unique G-Fit Guarantee.

Re: Pioneer 43" plasma mounting assistance required

Hi Graham,

Thanks for the reply.

60mm does sound like quite a distance - what options would I have if I chose to go flat against the wall rather than tilted? Or do you have any other tilting mounts that are a little more slimline?!

Also - not that I doubt the quality of your products but can anyone else who has had one of these mount installed vouch for it? I'm talking specifically about how easy it is to put up and get the screen to stay in position...I've read a few things about various tilting mounts being either tilted all the way or not at all - there is no middle ground due to bad design!

Hi

We also have this one on e-bay; Plasma Bracket LCD Bracket Super Slim Tilting on eBay, also, Wall Mounts Brackets, TV Accessories, Consumer Electronics (end time 16-Nov-08 19:13:31 GMT) which is just 30mm deep, we think it's the slimmest tilting bracket you can get for this size of TV. This will also fit your Pioneer but will only tilt downwards to either 0, 5, 10, 15 or 20 degrees. Becaus ethese angles are fixed you'll have no problems with holding the TV in place.

See our feedback for this item to verify it's quality and our service.

Re: Pioneer 43" plasma mounting assistance required

Hi Graham,

Thanks for that - looks pretty much spot on. Doesn't say anything about fittings - does the bracket come with any?

What would you recommend as regards fixing bolts? I have the 43" plasma which will be going on a brick wall, but am just about to purchase a 42" pioneer 428xd from a guy on this forum which will need to be mounted on a plasterboard wall which has strengthening wood inside the wall.

Any suggestions?!

Re: Pioneer 43" plasma mounting assistance required

Hi

For fitting to a plasterboard wall you need to fix to a couple of the studs in the wall if possible. You can use normal corse thread wood screws for this and then use decent plasterboard anchors like these Fischer Spring Toggle 5 x 50mm Pack of 20 - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys for the plasterboard areas. If there's no stud in the right place then you couls attach battons to the wall first. For a brick wall we have these; http://www.m-formonline.co.uk/index....mart&Itemid=26 or these; http://www.m-formonline.co.uk/index....mart&Itemid=26 or you can use standard solid wall plugs and screws from Homebase or similar.

Remember with this type of bracket that all the weight is taken on the top rail so use all the fixing points available on the top rail then a few along the bottom.

Hope this helps

Re: Pioneer 43" plasma mounting assistance required

Just wanted to say thanks Graham - I ordered two of the brackets you suggested through ebay and have fitted one already and intend on fitting the other this weekend

I also have a Sharp 22" tv in the bedroom that I'd like to wall mount - any suggestions?

The model code is LC-22SV2E if that helps

Hi

Thanks for the orders.

Your Sharp TV is 100x100 VESA so depending on whether you want flat or tilt/swivel;

Flat; M-Form - 10" to 21" VESA LCD Bracket
Articulated; M-Form - 14" to 26" VESA Articulated Bracket
