Wallmounting A 26" LG TV

Hi,

I have recently been given an 26" LG LCD TV that I intend to use as my PC monitor.

I would very much like to wall mount it on a partition wall. I know this is generally a no no but is there any way it's possible? The TV doesn't way that musch and wall mounting it would free up alot of desk space which there isn't much of.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Wallmounting A 26" LG TV

Hi

Mounting on partition wall isn't always out of the question, there's a lot of adverse comments towards it but there are ways...

Certainly with just a 26" TV it shouldn't be a problem. The best place to start is to see if you can find one of the wooden studs behind the plasterboard, you can use a stud detector for this or simply tap the wall to see where the sound changes. If you can find a stud somewhere near where you need the TV then you've no problems, you can attach the bracket to the stud. If you can't find a stud then you can use the toggle type fixings into your plasterboard. Mounting near to a stud is also better as there's less flex in the board.

Either way, with this size of TV you should be ok as long as the plasterboard is in good condition and you choose the correct fixings.

I hope this helps.
