Toshiba 46XV635DB - the 46" model

Hi everyone,

Wifey and I ordered the 46XV635DB last night.

Looking for suggestions on wall brackets/mountings.

The TV will go in a corner on one side of the fireplace. Ideally the bracket will allow the TV to be positioned flat'ish against the wall and can be pulled out, turned and swivelled for viewing.

I've seen this one on eBay -> LCD TV WALL BRACKET FOR TOSHIBA 46XV635DB 46" PLASMA on eBay (end time 14-Nov-09 22:08:10 GMT)

Any other suggestions would be very welcome.

Thank you.

Hi

For a 46" TV I'd personally go for something with a double arm arrangement. You may find that the TV sags to one side once pulled out and swivelled.

Hi Graham,

Many thanks for your prompt reply - much appreciated.

You make a very good point about the potential for sagging.

Have you seen any double arm brackets you can recommend.

Cheers.

Hi

We have a couple here but they are quite a bit more expensive than the original one you linked to;

M-Form - 32" to 52" Articulated Universal LCD/Plasma Bracke

M-Form - 37" to 52" Free Motion Cantilever Bracket (Black)

Thank you for the recomendations Graham - I'll add them to the list for consideration. I think it would be worth spending more money for the reassurance of stability.

Re: Toshiba 46XV635DB - the 46" model

Actually I am not sure where to go. Can you advise?

Coincidently I have been trawlling the forums to find the best place to post my next query.

I'd like to take full advantage of oue new TV and invest in a decent surround sound setup but have no idea where to start.

Can you or anyone point me to a thread or sub-forum here that I can view.

Thanks again.

Have a good look in this forum All-in-one Systems - AVForums.com it may be what your after, if not you will probably be looking at an integrated amp and separate speaker system, there are separate forums for both.

Re: Toshiba 46XV635DB - the 46" model

Hi tubeway,

Just come in and have to go out again daughter's athletics presentation tonight be back later and will get on then in the mean time see attachment plan of lounge setup.
Av receivers I looked at are Denon 1910 £450 and the Yamaha 1065 currently £510 but its a £700 amp normally spec closer to the Denon 2310 bu £200 cheaper. Both ideal with Q Acoustic surround package 1010i on offer because new range just released. 1010i £350. If the budget permits then go with this its a good setup and you can add to it if you want to upgrade. Sorry its a quick reply at the moment but will get back later tonight 11ish any other questions post them to me and I will try and answer them.

Re: Toshiba 46XV635DB - the 46" model

Hi Waterhorse,

Your lounge layout is not too dissimilar to ours.

To be frank I wasn't looking to at too big a budget. Let me re-phrase that - I wasn't looking at a budget that would not get past wifey.

Not that I have a budget in mind as I really don't know how much a surround sound setup would cost.

I'll have a look around here in the forums and I'll read up on the products you mentioned.

Thank you.

Re: Toshiba 46XV635DB - the 46" model

Hi tubeway,

You are welcome.

My advice would be fix a budget of £1000 this I think is good for startup figure.

Amp £500ish
Speakers £400ish
£100 cables, brackets/stands.
All alittle flexible

IMO Denons Yamaha good, some other members my add others but these 2 seem to get good reviews. Speakers at this level the now old Q Accoustic 1010i, is a good speaker package and good prices as the new 2000 series is out. Jamo's get good reports but I did not like the look/sound of these. The most important thing is to go and listen to these and don't get pressured into buying the first setup you think sounds good. You may get a better deal buying from different places. Free speaker cable doesn't always swing the deal!

If I can be of any further help then let me Know

Waterhorse.
