Do I need rawl plugs?

Hi guys so my wall bracket arrived yesterday and so today I decided to tackle the job of mounting. I can deffo fix one end of the bracket to the wooden stud in the plaster board wall..... and Iv'e cut out and placed a piece of 2"X3" wood to attach the other end of the bracket too.

My question is can I screw straight through the 2"X3" into the breeze block using just say 5" screws or is it best to use rawl plugs. Not really clued up when it comes to DIY so wasn't 100% sure whether I needed to use rawl plugs just for added piece of mind. Cheers in advance

Re: Do I need rawl plugs?

Hi

Sounds like you'd be ok with decent sized plugs and screws into the breezeblock.

Frame fixings are quite good for this as they are designed to attach framework (wood) to solid walls;

Fischer Universal Frame Fixings 8 x 100mm Pack of 10 - Screwfix.com, Where the Trade Buys

Hope this helps.

Thanks Graham Just wanted to be sure as I don't fancy waking up one morning to find a plasma lying in pieces on the floor
