Best mount for a panasonic 50"V10

Hi all, just purchased a new v10 panny and was lookin for information on the best wall mount to use. Im after the slimmest one I can get with no tilting or anything fancy.

Wall it is going on is plasterboard spot dabbed onto brick wall (fairly new build house) so batons to mount onto but was hoping I could just drill through the plasterboard and mount onto the brick?

all advice appreciated

Hi

We manufacture both the genuine Panasonic bracket and also universal brackets which will fit this TV.

The Panny bracket probably wouldn't suit you as it is fairly deep and also has tilt. The universal bracket I'd recommend is this one;

M-Form - 32" to 52" Universal LCD/Plasma Bracket

This has a depth of 32mm which is fairly slim but also gives you the room you need to get the cables out of this TV.

With Dot and Dab you can drill straight through and into the brick. Because of the nature of Dot and Dab it is advisable to fill in the gap between the board and brick at the fixing hole points with something like a filler or no-more-nais to make sure the board doesn't pull in when you tighten the screws.

Hope this helps

Re: Best mount for a panasonic 50"V10

Graham,

Thanks for the info, hadnt really considered about the plasterboard needing something behind it to stop it bowing.

I assume that would be a case of drill the hole into the plasterboard, squirt in filler/no more nails and leave it to set, then drill through it into the brick behind?

I also then assume I can use solid wall fixings rather than plasterboard fixings? (looking at the mounting screws at the bottom of your link)

Excuse the questions, Im just trying to make sure my new (and seemingly quite heavy) tv doesnt come off the wall.

Hi

Actually you can just drill the holes through into the brick all in one go, then fill the gaps if you have any. Then you can re-drill or clean out the filler once it's set. This way you know you have a constant drill hole for the plugs to go into. Then, yes, you can use solid wall fixings suitable for your brick.
