Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

im just about to receive one Samsung 32B450 from john lewis.
i want this on the wall but our walls are plaster board on timber frame the studs are at 600mm centres.
ive never fitted on the wall before but im assuming fixing into the studs will be adequate.
what i need from you guys is any advice on how to put it up and where and what to purchase.
this will be going on the flat part of the wall and will be viewed mainly from the top of a bunk bed (my dauther has a stompa highbed with desk underneath)tilt or tilt and twist will be handy will be handy as it will probably have to be fitted around 100mm or less from the ceiling.
we have to bare cost in mind to some degree as this room move is getting costly.
any advise welcome lads.
thanks gaz...........

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

Hi

Your TV has a 200x200 VESA fixing on the back so any tilting bracket with these fixings will fit. Here's an option for a tilter which will guaranteed fit your TV;

M-Form - 21" to 37" Tilting VESA LCD bracket

There are wall fixing points top and bottom centre which you can get into one of your studs with woodscrews. This will hold the weight no problem, then you can use plasterboard fixings in the other positions to reinforce the whole thing further.

Hope this helps

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

hi graham and thanks for the reply.
you suggest using one stud then two board fixings,with a 32" tv would i be able to use 2 studs (there 600mm apart) then have one board fixing in the centre or is the pull/weight more loaded on the centre point.
gaz...........

edit: just looked at your link, this bracket is a narrow fit so i understand why you suggested one stud and 2 board fittings,is this type of bracket best for stud P/board walls or would the wider fit be better as it will hit 2 studs.

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

Hi

To do this you would need a larger universal style bracket like;

M-Form - 32" to 52" Tilting Universal LCD/Plasma Bracket

which I think would be over the top for your TV.

It depends where you need the TV to be. If you can fix the original bracket to the stud on the centre fixings and have the TV in the correct place then I'd recommend going this way. Once you get two large woodscrews into a stud there'll be no moving it.

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

graham,
with regard to the narrow stand on one stud,are there variations of this stand that twist but without having to come off the wall to much with an arm,the twist would only need to be minimal.

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

Hi

To do that you would need an articulated bracket, we have this one on offer which would fit your TV;

M-Form - 21" to 37" VESA Articulated/Tilting LCD Bracket

It has full articulation but can be used to a minimum for a little amount of swivel.

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

thanks graham i will have a think over the next day or so and work out whether or not she will need this tilt and turn or just the tilt.
graham,with the T and T how much gap will there be when flat between wall and rear of set and how much greater is this than the tilt only?.

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

Hi

The Tilt and Turn is 75mm when flat, the Tilt is 60mm although this is necessary to tilt the TV.

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

I'm after a tilting bracket for my Panny 32-LXD600, it will be mounted on to a stud wall by my builder, need something as cheap as possible as I've spent all the money on the house and fittings!

Re: Samsung 32B450 plaster board and stud walls

Thanks mate, will get one ordered tomorrow. Any special advice for affixing this to a wall?. I assume it will need to go into the joists of the plasterboard wall?. What length of screw would be needed?
