Warner Village changing names...

Just seen that Warner Village Cinemas are changing their name to VUE - anyone know what that is all about? Are they being bought out? Will it affect their service?
My local Warner VIllage is ace, I hope it doesn't change for the worse.

When my local MGM cinema (which was brilliant) was brought up by Virgin the audience was subjected to 'adverts' telling us how bad and run down the cinema had been under MGM and how much better it would be under Virgin. Over the subsequent months the store stopped selling Coke (etc) and started only selling Virgin branded drinks, the price went up by £2 per person and they obviously sacked all the cleaners because the cinema became filthy.

Not answering any of your questions Lex - but a good opportunity to post about something that still annoys me to this day!

This happened a while ago lex. Apparently nothing will change, and the handover has already happened, but the name change hasn't yet.

So if nothings changed yet then no worries

If I'm correct VUE is part of the Warner Group, I wouldn't worry too much, probably just a tax dodge!!!!

No, a brand of SBC International who bought out the chain from AOLTimeWarner (Now just TimeWarner) and Village Roadshow.

Vivendi Universal is currently looking for a buyer for its chain UCI which is a joint venture with Paramount Pictures
