I've seen the first one, and I admit I was pretty freaked out (I won't spoil it for those here!) but not seen the 2nd film, so i'm looking forward to it...

I saw "Ringu" the original version, however i was disappointed. Maybe i was expecting more than i got, but i found the hollywood remake really good and quite terrifying.

Ring0 is better than Ring2. Its a prequel, and sheds a very different light on Sadako. Look out for it.

I was disappointed by Ringu, especially after the cult acclaim surrounding it. I actually prefer the new version. Ring 2 is pretty good, examining how the situation is dealt with by more than a couple of people. It'll be interesting to see if the US version of Ring2 will follow this or come up with something original.

However, you should also watch 'The Spiral'. This is an alternative Ring 2 and is the film adaptation of the book Rasen (which is the sequel to the literary Ringu) It is not as terrifying as the Ring trilogy and is more of a pathological crime drama.
