Coronation Street, Eastenders et al.

Please someone put these shows down. I have a fear of shuffling of this mortal coil in a hospital room with the faint strains of either of the theme tunes to these shows playing from the TV room down the corridor.

I think they are a shadow of their former selves, and show that they have completely run out of ideas.

I would have watched the odd Eastenders maybe 15 years ago, back in the Dirty Den days. It was fairly well written and had good storylines. Now its just completely useless. Having said that I don't watch it any more.

As for Corrie. I have never watched that but caught the odd episode over the years. In the past it used to be serious drama, but now anytime I catch a part of it it seems to be trying to be a comedy show. And a bad one at that.

But they will continue until we die, cos they have enough people watching them.

I can't stand any soap. Not that keen on the likes of Coronation St or Eastenders either.

Hate Eastenders but I do have a soft spot for Corrie.

Has a much better cast and some of the comedy stuff is very well written and delivered.

Norris and Tyrone are great characters, but my favourite at the moment is the guy who works with Ashley in the butchers.

No idea what his name is (or who the actor is), but he had me in stitches the other night when trying to sell a customer stewing steak. They need to do more with this guy.

These shows have definately got to keep going, there brilliant. I don't watch them myself, but there dead handy if you want to phone your
parents or any elderly relative, and you don't want a protracted call about the weather, economy, a problem PC, how well your brother/sister are
doing or any other of the 101 things they feel you need to know. Just call them at 7:30pm, they can't wait to put the phone down!!
