If you have not come across 'Digiguide' before, can I suggest you have a look at...
DigiGuide: The Best TV Guide with UK Radio and UK TV Listings
Digiguide is a PC based TV guide that IMHO compliments Sky+/HD perfectly.
I've been using this app for about 10 years now and I would not be without it.
I know this is going to read like a big advert and I better point out that I do not work for, and am nothing to do with Digiguide, but this so so useful in conjunction with Sky+/HD and as such worth giving a go.
So why bother?
1) It gives you listings for all Sky channels much like the Sky planner, but for much longer in the future. They essentially give you what they can, some channels up to six weeks in advance.
2) A *superb* search facility. You can search for program, person, keyword, etc.. This allows you search the whole guide and produces a list that shows: the date, channel, start time, duration, series, episode, episode name etc.
This is *really* useful when you have had a program clash or you have simply missed a program and want to find when it's repeated.
Reading the 'new EPG' threads on AVForums many posts are from people looking forward to the new search facility. Believe me the new EPG's search (I guarantee) will be puny in comparison.
3) This is my favourite facility.... You can get Digiguide to store a list of programs you want it to look for. So for example you can get it to look for the film 'Death In Venice' and when it finds that it's on, then put a pop up dialogue box on your PC. This allows you not to miss a film you have looking for. I have Digiguide looking for about 40-50 films for me. I have it set up to remind me 6 days before the film is shown (so it can be put straight into the Sky planner). This is brilliant, every now again I get a pop up to tell me that something I've been waiting for for ages will be shown soon. This facility can 'look for' other things like person or keyword, e.g. 'tell me when anything with Jenny Agutter is on'

.
There's loads of other good stuff as well.
I think they till do a free 30 day free trial then it's about £10 a year.
Sorry to bang on a bit, but I'm convinced for some this would be a real advantage.
