Just seen Secretary on DVD 'what a great film' not sure how to describe it S&M love story with James Spader playing the lead role,similar overtone to the 'The Story of O' but not really in the same ball park so cant really compare,but may give you an idea of what to expect.Maybe some others might be able to describe it in a more 'Wossy' way.Well worth a look though.
'Whale Rider' an NZ film based on Maori traditions with a little fantasy thrown in was also a great film 'a sleeper' maybe,fantastic scenery etc also well worth a look.

Hadn't heard any feedback on Secretary which had slightly put me off it, but I think I"ll give it a go!
Whale rider sounds good as well.

Hi,

I saw "Secretary" at the cinema, but it left me disappointed. Not because I was expecting a load of S&M porno scenes, but because the film wasn't sure what it wanted to be. Was it meant to be a comedy, a drama, a thriller, a romance, a light-hearted rom-com, a sleazy psycho-drama, or what?

The laughs weren't enough to call it a comedy, so I guess it would be a drama. However, I think it's one of those films you'll either love, or hate. Personally, the trailer makes it to be vastly different to the finished work. Does anyone know if any extra material was left out, e.g. for a director's cut, or unrated version perhaps?

Yep it certainly was a quirky film,probably why I enjoyed it.
