Do you guys consider John Turturro to be a good actor?

I have been thinking about this recently. I almost never see him mentioned when favorite actors are being talked about, so i want to know what you guys opinion is about him. Even when The Coen brothers are in the discussion, the main players always are Jeff Bridges, John Goodman or Steve Buscemi, but almost never him.
So do you people rate him as an actor, and if not, why?

I love his performance as Howard Stempel in Quiz Show. Even as the wronged party he manages to be disagreable, many an actor would go for the sympathy angle, but John keeps it true.

I like him in the Coen brother movies, especially Miller's Crossing.

How is that?

Are his roles in Miller's Crossing, Big Lebowski, and Quiz Show somehow the same to you?

Wow, you have seen a lot of movies with him then.

I haven't seen those three, so i guess i can't say, just mostly the Coen Brothers and Spike Lee films. Just going by those he seems versatile.

State of grace is a very good film, the other 2 are pants

I think he's very good.

My wife watched "O Brother Where Art Thou" for the first time last month & she thought John Turturro & Tim Blake Nelson were fantastic (she of course thought george Clooney was wonderful too !).

Three movies? Which three in particular.

He's one of my favourite actors. I always look forward to movies he's in.

The Turturros are a class act all the way:

Brother Nick is pretty good, his cousin Aida is great in Sopranos (but not so great in her film roles) and his son Amadeo was brilliant in Royal Tennenbaums, as the young Luke Wilson.

Been a fan of his since he played Pino in Do the Right Thing, classic stuff.
