Didn't see Watchdog tonight - but did they mention that it's only Amazon.com selling these items, and not Amazon.co.uk? Unless, the story is that people are inporting these items into Britain, alongside all the hardcore porn that Amazon can also supply you with?!

I missed most of the item, but had to laugh when Nicky Cambell gave the Amazon bloke a copy of the Ebay best practice and suggested that they should follow that.

Yeah, Nicky, nobody has ever had a problem with ebay I'll choose Amazon over ebay anytime.

It wasn't anything to do with Amazon, any of those stories, but soley problems via their marketplace. Which you could argue is their responsibility I guess.

The first story was where some guy instead of paying via the website and being correctly covered, instead paid the guy direct by moneycorp or some other similarly sounding dodgy service. Obviously he then didn't receive the item. Then he had the cheek to moan at Amazon for not doing anything about it. I've been ripped off in the past so am not being all high and mighty here, but there were so many signs that the deal was dodgy the guy really should have known.

The other stories were perfectly valid, but with millions of items for sale it's no surprise that some may get missed. Although I'm surprised they don't have a search algorithm that finds these sort of things.

And for Nicky Campbell to claim that Ebay have sorted themselves off and try and palm off their best practice policy to the Amazon UK MD was hilarious. It just shows he has no idea at all on the companies he is reporting on.

Ebay is rife with fakes, theives and con artists. Whilst Amazon Marketplace has problems, if you follow the rules you are properly covered.
