Arrow Heads Up: History of Violence - 10pm

History of Violence (2005) - Channel 4, 10pm

Great movie with Viggo Mortensen, Maria Bello, William Hurt, Ed Harris. Directed by David Cronenberg

Rated 18 - strong violence/sexual scenes.

though i have seen it before, i was disappointed in the 1 or more people against Tom Stall, no body seemed to be able to shoot him, on more than one occasion they had a clear shot, but stood there like dummies. still enjoyed it last night, its a very small movie that some people dont get.

I didn't get it. When I saw it at the cinema and found it infantile from the character names right through the plot and direction, in fact it is in my top 5 all time worst films. I can't put my finger on exactly why I didn't like it because I usually like this genre but the sum of it's parts added up to a pile of turd in my brain. Strange one really because most people really rate it. Anyway, it's all subjective.

I thought it was pretty good, but it couldn't have been great because I forgot that I had seen it before.

I agree with your thoughts. I know the film is called "a History of Violence" but to me the violent scenes just seemed to be added in for no reason. I'm all for a bit a realism, IE if you shot someone there's gonna be blood but this film was a little OTT. Defo a Turkey IMO
